I Can Climb

Now that Abigail is walking she is in a constant state of motion. She is always trying to climb in, out, and on things. She can often be found climbing in and out of the walker wagon or getting on and off the pink car. It is amazing how quickly she has learned to do this. One day she needed our help and the next day she could do it on her own.

While Marianne was here in July, Abigail perfected her skill of sitting in a chair. She kneels on the seat, turns her body, and then takes her leg out from under her bottom. She figured that out all on her own too!

Her most recent climbing skill is stepping on to the baseboard radiator and pulling herself up using the windowsill in order to look out the window. We discovered this trick on Wednesday after returning home from the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. While Matt was outside taking pictures of our new chickens, she walked over to the window and pulled herself up to watch him.

It seems now that she tries to get a leg up on everything. She climbs on us when we lay on the floor and she tries to get a leg up on the coffee table and over the edge of the Pack N' Play, both of which are too high for the moment. I know it is just a matter of time before we see her climb onto the couch or hear her fall out of her crib in the middle of the night.
