Head Trauma Drama

This past weekend Tanner began taking his first steps! He doesn't stand up on his own yet (without holding on to something), but he will walk between two people once he is standing. Once we stand him up, his feet start going a mile a minute. When he is standing tall we let go and he takes a few steps. Once he gets tired of walking back and forth he develops what I call "Jello Legs". If you stand him up he resists by bending and straightening his legs (bouncing) over and over. When Abby tired of walking she would hold her legs out parallel to the floor if you stood her up (talk about core strength).

Since Tanner is new to this whole walking thing, he isn't very stable on his legs and feet so we usually only let him practice between two people. The other night (just before bath and bedtime) he tried walking in the living room from the chair to the coffee table. His "Jello Legs" were not in control and he fell and hit his head on the edge of the coffee table on his way down. There were many tears and some blood, but no trip to the ER. Tanner now has a small cut above his right eye and a small bruise on his forehead. This is his first head injury but I am sure it will not be his last.
