Snip...Snip

We began potty-training Abigail about a month ago. To start the process I bought a case of Pampers Easy Ups. I decided that since we use Pampers diapers we would stick with the same brand. I was a little disappointed to see that you can only buy pink ones with Dora the Explorer or blue ones with Go Diego Go on them. Pampers doesn't make a neutral one, which is annoying to me. I can tell you right now I will not be buying separate Easy Ups for each child.

I usually wait to put Abigail in an Easy up until after she had done her morning BM. She wears the Easy Up until after lunch (unless she does another BM before then) when I change her before her afternoon nap. A few weeks ago a stomach bug went through our house and Abigail's normal BM schedule was completely out of whack. As a result I discovered how difficult it is to change a Easy Up that is full of poop! There is no easy way to remove a messy Easy Up without it getting all over you, the changing pad, you, the baby, you, the baby's socks, you, the baby's shoes, and did I mention...YOU!

Since that day I came up with a brilliant plan to prevent another "Poop-tacular" event in the future. I didn't have to buy a gadget or tool, I now use something the everyone has in their home...scissors! I now keep a small pair of scissors in the basket next to the changing pad. If there is poop in the Easy Up I cut the sides and take it off like a regular diaper...keeping everyone and everything poop free!

The White Cloud brand has a tab on each side so you can open and close the "training pant" However, Gabe is huge and can only fit into the "Little Boy" overnights which do not have an adjustable tab. Hopefully as it warms up he will be more interested in the potty or more in going without a diaper. Because I am so sick of diapers."
