Welcome 2012

This week we rang in the New Year and visited with friends near and far. New Year's Eve was spent at the 13th Step in Union, Maine where we finally met the newest addition to our Barker Point clan...Sierra Kathleen Packard. We enjoyed holding and feeding her and of course visiting with her parents, Jesse and Emmy, who drove up from Norfolk, VA.

On Tuesday we were visited by my former roommate, Lynelle and her husband John who traveled from Switzerland to celebrate the holidays with Lynelle's family in Farmington, Maine. The twins had changed a lot since Lynelle's last visit when they were about 9 months old and john had never officially met them. We were so glad that they were able to fit us into their brief and busy schedule of visiting family and friends all over Maine (and California).

This week Tanner, Abigail, and I have had fun playing with the new toys they got from Santa and their wonderful family and friends. We have enjoyed reading new books and finding homes for all their new "loot". Our large house is starting to feel a little smaller. Matt plans to start work on our den (a.k.a Play Room) this month and I hope it will be finished by the twin's second birthday so we can use it to accommodate family and friends for a "Music Together" themed party! A new semester of Music Together class begins this week. Tanner, Abigail, and I are looking forward to learning the new collection of songs and seeing all our friends each week.

Tanner and Abigail went to see Dr. Russ for their well child check-up this week and they were both healthy and happy (until the stethoscope came out). Tanner has caught up to Abigail weight wise with them both topping the scale at 27 pounds! Matt and I are amazed at how much our little boy has grown since his last check up in September when he had no teeth, wasn't talking, and didn't walk. Now he has several teeth, a growing vocabulary, and walks everywhere. We are getting ready to begin potty training with Abigail...another milestone! They both continue to amaze us everyday with what they say, do, and understand. I feel so blessed to be home to witness their growth and development everyday.
