We went to Creamer's Tree Farm in Washington (on Fitch Road) where you cut your own tree (any size) for $25.00. We put the twins in the backpacks and hiked all around searching for the "perfect" tree for about an hour.
On Saturday Matt and I took the twins out to find a Christmas tree for the front of our house. Matt hitched the pulp cart to the back of the 1945 BN Farmall and we rode out to the powerlines behind the house (babies in backpacks once again). It would have made for a really wonderful family picture for our Christmas card, but alas there was no one around to take the picture of the four of us.
Every December since I met Matt, he has talked about how he used to make Christmas candy with his family when he was young. This year his mom and I talked about hosting a candy making party with some friends. On Saturday afternoon Hazel brought her candy making molds and brushes to our house and some of our close friends came over to join in the fun.
Tanner and Abigail napped through most of the candy making process, which turned out to be a wonderful nap time activity since we were so quiet with concentration as we worked. We worked so hard on each candy that we didn't want to eat any of them. We decided that we would save them and put them out for our Christmas Eve visitors to enjoy.
