Before they were born, we registered for (and received) two Graco Duo Diner Highchairs. We went with the Duo Diner because of its ability to grow with the child from infant to toddler and then convert into a booster seat. It has a dishwasher safe tray, 3 to 5 point harness, and a machine washable seat cover...all pluses in my "Mommy" book.
Tanner and Abigail used their highchairs for the first time when they were about 7 months old. We originally had them secured to our kitchen chairs but quickly moved them to their bases because they were too low for "Daddy" feedings (Matt is 6' 3" tall). It also allowed our chairs to remain available for dinner guests.

Tanner and Abigail have experienced many firsts in these highchairs...fresh vegetables, birthday cake, spaghetti, meeting a REAL bunny, finger painting, and playing with play dough (just to name a few).

| Hello Mr. Bunny (February 2012) |
This year, during my post-Christmas haze I decided it was time for Tanner and Abigail to begin eating
at the BIG table. They had been eating in their highchairs pulled up near the table during family meals but we were having issues with
food being thrown and sippy cups being tossed so I thought a change
might do some good.
Since they made the move to the BIG table there has been a significant decrease in the amount of food being thrown (smile). We have also switched to open-mouth cups during meals which means less cup tossing (smile) but more cup spilling (frown). The first week alone I went through THREE tablecloths in TWO days. As you can see in the pictures above there is NO tablecloth...lesson learned. The reason the chairs are on opposite ends of the table is because we are able to push them all the way under the table when they eat which means less food hits the floor (yeah, right).
Before we know it they will be sitting at the table without a booster and then one day they will be sitting around a table in their own homes (after they have completely destroyed the one they currently live in). Until then, we will enjoy our fa
mily meals together even if it means getting hit upside the head with the occasional pea or having half a glass of milk dumped in our laps...kids are a blessing*.
* That is what I tell myself while I
am mopping
the dining room and kitchen floors once a week.
Note: The reclining back makes these chairs a great place to catch some ZZZZs (see below).

How old are your kiddos and what set up are you currently using for feeding time?

It has an infant piece that has long since been removed so that it works as an elevated seat for Gavin (with straps for my sanity, otherwise he wouldn't stay at the table. He'd be up and down all meal. I love having him pulled up to the table."

Almost 3) just likes to sit at the table, no booster or anything, but right now he's in his high chair because we still have our Christmas tree up, and in our tiny apartment, the only place for the tree is on top of the table. We're classy folk."
