Murphy's Law of diaper changing: An infant/toddler WILL stick their hand in their poop or in the poopy diaper that had been removed from their bottom. With two years of twin diaper changes under my belt I feel I am somewhat of an expert in the waste removal process.
To combat the evil force that poop has on my toddler's hands I keep a few small books on the changing table (aka The Poop Deck) for entertainment them while I clean them up. They are small board books that were inexpensive and don't take up a lot of space on the table (with a wiggly toddler you need all the space you can get).
In the beginning they would flip through the pages and look at the pictures. Now with their broader vocabulary I have them hunt for pictures on the pages. A few months ago I would show them a picture in the book saying, "This is an elephant." Then I would close the book and say, "Find the elephant." Now I simply say, "Find the elephant."
The other day Abigail challenged me, "Find the bathing suit Mommy." The only thing cuter than that would be two potty trained toddlers. Someday...

God, this is a great idea. I always have to give them something to play with. They (triplets) only recently started trying to stick their fingers in their poop, but they would always grab the edges of the table and hoist themselves sideways unless I gave them something to occupy themselves. I'm going to use this.
